Job Title: Laboratory Assistant 1

Location: Greensboro, NC

Duration: 5 Months + (Possible extension)

Pay Rate: $22.22/Hourly/W2

Duties: Performs research activities and other infrastructure tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment. Records observations and measurements and reports results promptly. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining various equipment. Familiar with a variety of analytical laboratory concepts, practices, and procedures. Performs a variety of tasks following written, detailed procedures in a GLP (Good Labortory Practices) compliant environment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Operate and troubleshoot various laboratory instruments independently, escalate issues to supervisor. Perform routine and non-routine operations GLP lab testing on pesiticide formulations safely and efficiently, using chromatographic and non-chromatogarphic test techniques. Communicates with internal colleagues within department and other stakeholders.

Skills: Attention to detail. Good oral and written communication skills. Previous experience with GLP requirements is beneficial. Good working skills in a laboratory, including wet chemistry testing as well as chromatography (HPLC and GC) is preferred. Laboratory bench testing of formulated pestidal products. Writing formal final reports, and GLP documentation/recordkeeping. Ability to work independently and safely is required.

Education: BS in chemisty is preferred. Minimum bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline.
