Responsibilities

The Junior Project Manager will join the central Program Delivery team in the Americas region of SG. The Program Delivery team is within the Global Business Technology and Operations (“GBTO”) function and is responsible for the delivery of critical and transformational change initiatives across the entire organization. Projects within the portfolio cover a wide range of topics including business development, regulatory change, organizational change, and process improvements.

The role provides a candidate with an interest in project management an opportunity to gain experience in all facets of project and program management. The successful candidate will initially provide project management support to a senior PM(s) with the opportunity in the future to take the lead on projects themselves.

The role will also provide the successful candidate exposure across the organization including SG Americas Business Lines as well as Support and Control functions. The Program Delivery team works in partnership with senior project sponsors and stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and roadmaps, as well as applies a robust project governance model and ensures successful execution.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility will be to provide support to senior PMs leading complex cross functional projects and programs. The Junior PM should be prepared to contribute to all aspects of the project life cycle and to add value as an engaged member of the team. Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing a business case
  • Contributing to a study and documenting the conclusions (performing research on a given topic with the aim to be able to provide information to stakeholders that would enable decision making)
  • Developing a project budget and tracking project expenditure
  • Development and monitoring of project plans
  • Producing monthly status reporting on the health of the project
  • Coordination of meetings such as Steering Committees, Operating Commitees and Working Groups. Managing agendas, developing meeting materials and documenting takeaways.
  • Following up on project deliverables
  • Identification and management of project risks and issues

The candidate should expect to develop the skills to complete these responsibilities in line with industry project management standards and to develop an understanding of project management methodologies. The candidate will be encouraged and supported to develop skills and obtain certification through training and experience.

The team also oversees the process to approve new products for the region so the Junior PM may also have the opportunity to assist in the process to manage review and approval of products prior to their launch.

Experience in financial services and/or some exposure to project management is preferred.

Profile required

Technical Skills:

  • Technical proficiencies in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Some familiarity with financial services industry preferred

  • Be organized and have the ability to multi-task
  • Good interpersonal skills and willingness to contribute to the team

Education/Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Major in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Technology or similar field preferred
  • 2-6 years work experience, ideally within the financial services industry
  • Exposure to project management concepts e.g. involvement in a project in some capacity

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
