Junior Linguist - Remote

As we continue to push the boundaries on how machines and language work together, we need a Junior Linguist to join our team to continue to improve the quality and accuracy of our language platform.

You will work within our Product Team, collaborating with Product Managers and will report to our Taxonomist.

Responsibilities

  • Audit our guidance and classification platforms to proactively review for any inaccuracies
  • Respond quickly to the needs of internal teammates
  • Troubleshoot linguistic issues logged in customer support tickets
  • Create new guidance for our Smart Editor
  • Help organize our growing databases of job and career content
  • Provide support for language-related product release efforts
  • Maintain classification systems and taxonomies to organize and categorize job description data

To start off, most of your time will be spent auditing content and learning how to encode or refine guidance on our proprietary platform. As you ramp, you will have more opportunities to work at the intersection of linguistics and taxonomy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience as a linguist or taxonomist
  • Very basic programming knowledge (you can write basic if/then statements)

For candidates residing within the United States, anticipated base salary for this role is USD $40,000 - $50,000 annually. Actual compensation is determined by many factors including candidate experience and skills; location/market; and business needs.
