As the Director of Visual Merchandising at karma and Luck, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of visual merchandising strategies that enhance the brand's in-store and online presence. Your role will encompass designing and maintaining visually compelling displays, ensuring a seamless customer shopping experience, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sales and brand consistency. This position requires a creative visionary with a deep understanding of consumer behavior, retail trends, and the ability to translate the brand's identity into captivating in-store and digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Visual Merchandising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive visual merchandising strategy aligned with the brand's identity and business objectives.
  2. Store Layout and Design: Oversee the layout and design of physical retail spaces, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing and customer-centric environment.
  3. In-Store Displays: Create captivating in-store displays, window displays, and product presentations that highlight key products and seasonal themes.
  4. Online Merchandising: Collaborate with the e-commerce team to translate in-store visual merchandising strategies into an engaging online shopping experience.
  5. Visual Merchandising Guidelines: Establish and maintain visual merchandising guidelines, ensuring consistency across all retail locations and online platforms.
  6. Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory management teams to optimize product placement and replenishment strategies.
  7. Training and Development: Train and mentor store teams on visual merchandising best practices and standards.
  8. Vendor Relationships: Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and visual merchandising vendors to source materials, fixtures, and props as needed.
  9. Budget Management: Manage the visual merchandising budget effectively, allocating resources to initiatives that enhance the customer experience and drive sales.
  10. Performance Analysis: Analyze the impact of visual merchandising efforts on sales, customer engagement, and brand perception, and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  11. Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies in visual merchandising.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience 5+ years in visual merchandising leadership roles within the lifestyle or retail industry.
  • Strong creative and design sensibilities, with the ability to think innovatively and translate concepts into compelling displays.
  • Knowledge of retail trends, consumer behavior, and the ability to adapt visual strategies accordingly.
  • Proficiency in retail software and tools for planograms, store layout design, and digital merchandising.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
  • Budget management experience.
