Intellectual Property Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a talented and dedicated Intellectual Property Associate to join an excellent firm in their Health Care & Life Sciences practice. This position is available in the firm’s Columbus, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Portland, or Princeton office.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct patent prosecution within the life sciences industry
• Handle technology transactions including collaborations, licensing, outsourcing, and joint venture agreements
• Evaluate and manage patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios
• Perform IP due diligence for corporate transactions
• Manage and negotiate strategic commercial agreements

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience in patent prosecution within the life sciences industry
• Familiarity with technology transactions (collaborations, licensing, outsourcing, and joint ventures)
• Experience in evaluating and managing IP portfolios and performing IP due diligence is preferred
• Juris Doctorate degree required
• Admission to the USPTO required
• Admission to practice law in Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Oregon, or New Jersey is mandatory
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent research and writing skills
