About The Role

As Blackbird Health is expanding and growing, we are looking for a highly motivated Instructional Designer to join our team. Under the direction of the Chief of Quality and Education, the Instructional Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to analyze training needs, design curriculum, and develop engaging learning materials. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, a strong understanding of instructional design principles, and experience in developing innovative learning solutions. As A Instructional Designer, You Will

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze training needs and define learning objectives.
  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and multimedia assets.
  • Apply instructional design theories, models, and best practices to create effective learning experiences.
  • Utilize authoring tools and learning management systems (LMS) to develop and deliver learning content.
  • Conduct needs assessments, task analyses, and learner evaluations to inform the design process.
  • Ensure learning materials are accessible, engaging, and aligned with organizational goals and standards.
  • Incorporate interactive elements, simulations, and assessments to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and budgets.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in instructional design and learning technologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to SMEs, trainers, and other stakeholders involved in the learning development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in instructional design and e-learning development, preferably in a healthcare, corporate, or educational setting.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, cognitive psychology, and instructional design theories.
  • Experience with graphic design, multimedia development, or video production is a plus.
  • Certification in instructional design or e-learning development is desirable.

Knowledge/Skill

  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and SCORM/AICC standards.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with patients, provider partners and colleagues.
  • Open to professional feedback and interested in working in a supporting and collegial environment.
  • Flexibility to adjust to a dynamic work environment.
  • Must value operating in a collaborative and cooperative environment.
  • Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
