The IT co-op is a valued member of our Information Technology team. At BSI, they will support our end users, assist with day to day operations of our office locations, and hone their technical skills. They may also have the opportunity to interface with disciplines outside of the IT team and assist with projects to help improve our current workflows. The ideal candidate is willing to help their team, has a positive attitude, and enjoys interacting with others.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support/troubleshoot computer and software issues; Support users by addressing help desk calls and submissions
Assist with asset tagging and maintaining an inventory system of IT equipment
Design, implement, and support common IT services and software
Assist with the development policies and procedures within the organization
Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems
Assist in the development and maintenance of networks to optimize performance
Auditing and assurance of software license compliance
Evaluate and recommend products for purchase
Create and document processes relating to user training, software, and hardware rollouts
Assist in the set up and maintenance of IT infrastructure at all regional offices
Provide necessary training for new users on software and computer equipment
Work with others to coordinate various IT functions so that solutions and knowledge are shared promptly
Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments
Ability to provide emergency on-call support as needed
Respond to and assist in the support of helpdesk
Requirements
In the process of attaining a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field of study
Prior co-op or experience is preferred
Understanding of Windows Server and OS, Microsoft Office products, Server and Desktop class hardware
Basic understanding of backup technologies
Exposure to networking concepts and common IT infrastructure components
Ability to interact and communicate with co-workers
Self-motivated, positive, and proactive attitude
Ability to produce and present clear, concise, and professionally written communications and presentations
