Independent Listener (Volunteer)

Marlborough College seeks to engage on a volunteer basis, an Independent Listener.

Supporting pupils’ physical, mental and emotional wellbeing is a priority for the College. We believe young people learn most effectively when they feel emotionally safe and resilient, and are supported by trusted adults in all aspects of their wellbeing.

Each pupil has several adults to whom they may turn for advice and support including the residential teams, the pastoral senior management, the Chaplain, or a trusted teacher in the school. However, there may be occasions when a pupil wishes to speak to someone who is not part of the College, and our Independent Listeners provide support for this.

The Independent Listener acts as a confidential and supportive adult to pupils in the College who wish to discuss concerns.
