Pennington Biomedical Research Center , a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Horticultural Attendant in Facilities Management.
Major Responsibilities
Performs diversified and skilled work in care of plants, vegetation, trees, and grounds.
Prunes and trims trees and shrubs as needed or on a seasonal basis.
Performs any related duties necessary for the growth and appearance of trees, plants, and vegetation.
Monitors pest activity; schedules, prepares, and applies pesticides, and calibrates pesticide applicators.
Schedules, selects, prepares, delivers, and arranges plant material for university functions.
Maintains inventory of supplies and tools, including preparing material orders.
Operates and maintains, through minor repairs, common horticultural machines and irrigation systems.
Required Qualifications
One year of experience in any of the following: farming, the care and maintenance of trees and shrubs, or grounds keeping.
