Description

Oregon Corrections Enterprises (OCE) seeks a full-time General Manager (GM) to oversee operations at Two Rivers Correctional Institution (TRCI) in Umatilla, Oregon. The GM will lead Furniture Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Commercial Laundry operations, requiring strong time management, organizational skills, and expertise in production planning, scheduling, and customer service. Collaborating across disciplines, the GM will create a customer-focused operation adaptable to changing needs. This role provides leadership to enhance processes, quality, safety, and efficiency throughout TRCI. OCE GMs are responsible for sustaining self-sufficient business units and are offered a competitive compensation package, including employer paid health, vision, dental, paid time off, and retirement through the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and 11 paid holidays per year.

Desired Knowledge And Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within the manufacturing discipline, including knowledge of lean manufacturing
  • Contribute as an essential member of the manufacturing management leadership team
  • Ensure daily adherence to manufacturing processes and continuous improvement of the processes to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory metrics as well as shorten lead times.
  • Evaluate and mitigate operational risks, implementing appropriate controls and measures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
  • Knowledge on building, maintaining, and expanding client relationships
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proficient in staff management
  • Sound fiscal management capabilities including budget planning and implementation

Working Conditions

  • May be required to work some late and unusual hours, including some weekends
  • Requires willingness to travel in or out of state, including some overnight trips
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs without assistive aids
  • Travel throughout the institution(s) will be required on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of Director level management experience, in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating a proven track record of boosting sales revenue, developing new product lines, and optimizing operational efficiencies.

OR

  • Four (4) years of Director level management experience, in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating a proven track record of boosting sales revenue, developing new product lines, and optimizing operational efficiencies AND a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering/Technology.
  • Pass an initial and annual Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) criminal background check
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening
