Description of Position

This position will focus primarily on accounting functions related to the Fund Accounting group and its related entities. The Accountant will report directly to an Accounting Manager and will have interaction with multiple other departments within TPG including the Management Company, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Fundraising, Portfolio Monitoring, and Performance Reporting.


Requirements

  • Maintain the books and records of several private equity funds including general accounting responsibilities, maintenance of the general ledger, initiating cash movements, maintenance of partnership databases, and understanding and recording investment activity
  • Complete accurate and timely trial balance and financial statement close within deadlines
  • Understand and research partnership agreement language to determine appropriate accounting treatments
  • Prepare and issue capital calls and distributions in coordination with manager and deal team
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Learn and understand system tools functionality within multiple applications utilized by TPG
  • Assist in the collection of appropriate investment support for investment purchases and realizations
  • Understand assigned entities and related structures to ensure activity is recorded appropriately
  • Work directly with external auditors to ensure the timely completion of annual audits
  • Anticipate and research technical accounting issues and coordinate with manager on emerging issues


Principal Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting or finance
  • 2-8 years of experience in fund accounting, Investran experience preferred
  • Highly analytical, strategic, intellectually curious and detail-oriented, with a commitment to excellence
  • Candidates should possess strong technical, organizational, and communication (both oral and written) skills
  • Candidates should be self-motivated and be willing to work in a fast-paced team environment
