The Community You Will Join

  • Messaging is a critical component in building connections with our users. Our mission as the Communication Products team is to build a first-class messaging experience at Airbnb, bringing together guests and hosts across the world. As a web frontend engineer of this team, you’ll be responsible for building innovative, performant and accessible solutions with other like-minded engineers, designers, and product.

A Typical Day

  • Build the next-gen of Messaging used by millions of users
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Experience Designers and other Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products on Desktop and Moweb
  • Work closely with backend engineers and other web engineers on the team to develop and maintain messaging features
  • Design & build new integrations across other teams within Airbnb
  • Identify areas of improvement and drive web best practices

Your Expertise

  • 2+ years industry experience developing Web applications at scale
  • Experience with modern JavaScript/Typescript libraries and tooling (e.g. React, graphql)
  • Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
  • Strong product sense and a passion for UX product development
  • Ability to collaborate with Product Management, Design, and backend, and other web engineers

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care Of You

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
