Job Overview:

Our client a leading global Renewables Independent Power Producer is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Financial Modelling Analyst to join their team dedicated to the development of renewable energy assets.


In this role, you will be responsible for updating, maintaining, and enhancing financial models crucial to decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to scenario analyses, and gain exposure to models used in Development, M&As and tax equity transactions.


Responsibilities:

  1. Model Maintenance and Updating:
  • Regularly update and maintain financial models for renewable energy projects, ensuring accuracy and relevance to changing project parameters.
  • Collaborate with project development, finance, and engineering teams to incorporate updated data and assumptions into financial models.
  1. Scenario Analysis:
  • Assist in building and running scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of various factors on project financials, such as changes in market conditions, regulatory environments, and project parameters.
  • Present findings to the team, highlighting key insights and recommendations based on scenario outcomes.
  1. Project Development Support:
  • Work closely with project development teams to understand project lifecycle stages and contribute to the financial aspects of project development strategies.
  • Develop an understanding of key project development metrics and considerations.
  1. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Models:
  • Support the preparation and updating of financial models used in M&A transactions for renewable energy assets.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data for due diligence processes.
  1. Tax Equity Models:
  • Assist in maintaining financial models related to tax equity transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and optimizing financial structures.
  • Work with tax and legal teams to incorporate changes in tax codes and regulations into financial models.
  1. Communication:
  • Present financial findings and insights to internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance overall financial model transparency and understanding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software.
  • Basic understanding of project development in the renewable energy sector is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
