The Financial analyst in this role will be a part of the Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis AXP Results team within Corporate Planning (CP&A) and has primary responsibility for delivering AXP financials to Business partners including External Reporting and Investor Relations. This role will work closely with BU FP&A, BU LFOs and Controllership teams to ensure the integrity and reporting of AXP level financials.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information including reports, metrics, and outlook
  • Support the preparation and review key documents that are used for SEC/Regulatory filings, including the Earnings Release, 10-Q, and Annual Report.
  • Prepare key reports for analyzing the company results by Senior leaders in the Company
  • Identify opportunities to increase automation, enhance controls, and increase efficiencies.
  • The position requires close interaction with various business partners including Corporate Planning, External Reporting and Investor Relations teams.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and work with customer groups to deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Translate and present complex situations into easily understood language for customer groups.
  • Lead and support ad hoc business partner requirements and key stakeholder initiatives.
  • Support the Plan and Outlook process

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Minimum 1-3 years accounting/financial experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and CPA/MBA a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with senior management and influence without authority.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, must be able to take initiative and at times be able to act independently to meet customer needs. Must be able to take ownership of reporting processes and customer relationships.
  • Innovative individual with ability to manage multiple priorities, lead project/task teams, prepare process documentation and improve processes.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
