Finance Intern (TN)

The Finance department has an exciting internship opportunity onsite at the Matthews™ HQ in Nashville, TN. We are currently looking for a candidate who is motivated and ambitious, excited by new challenges, and able to keep a calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. In addition, the ideal candidate also takes pride in their work and enjoys fun and highly collaborative work environments.

This position will provide valuable exposure to the broad range of the Matthews™ business and finance operations core functions. The candidate will work closely with the finance team to deliver real results in the areas of finance operations and financial planning and analysis.

This is a temporary, part time role that will be based in our Nashville office.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• The Finance Intern will be a key partner to the Operations and FP&A Team, with a focus on financial reporting and (KPIs) Key Performance Indicators reporting.
• This role requires an understanding of financial budgets, project management skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to effectively communicate with both operations and finance.
• Partner with other Operations Financial Analysts and the Operations Manager to create analytics and KPIs.
• Support our monthly closing process and have the opportunity to present results to budget owners.
• Contributing to accelerate projects by actively participating, creating an open communication channel with the users, gathering business requirements, involving them in the testing phase, incorporating feedback on the scope, etc.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Data Analytics or related field
• Proactive and results-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Excellent Microsoft Excel knowledge
