About the Role: 

As part of our growth, we’re looking to enhance our in-house financial competencies, including reporting, modeling and evaluation of strategic initiatives, as we build the strongest growth business that we can backed by sound analytics. The Finance & Accounting role contributes to these priorities by leading financial analysis for strategic projects to support our growth initiatives, guiding strategic planning, and overseeing budgeting, accounting, cash flow and other key financial activities. 

As the Manager or Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing strategic financial guidance to management, the Board of Directors and investors.

This role is ideal for someone who has spent a couple years in Big 4 accounting, investment banking or corporate finance and desires to move into an entrepreneurial, funded start up offering high-growth, autonomy and the opportunity to be part of creating something meaningful. 

Responsibilities*: 

• Financial Reporting – Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in collaboration with advisors & accountants, as well as working closely with franchisees to manage & advise on opportunities for P&Ls across all Brooklyn Dumpling Shops
• Budgeting and Forecasting – establish an annual budgeting process and provide ongoing analysis of performance against targets, develop financial forecasts to support strategic planning and identify opportunities for cost savings and driving efficiencies
• Strategic Support – conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business development opportunities; help create materials such as Board decks, Investor materials and strategic presentations
• Financial Analysis – help drive data-driven decision making and lead analysis behind creation of a more robust view on overall sales performance and corporate financials
• Cash Flow Management – maintain accurate & timely cash flow model and oversee AR/AP

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Finance, ideally in Big 4 accounting, investment banking or corporate finance
• Sound understanding of basic financial principles, practices, and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data into actionable insights
• Excellent project management capabilities and ability to manage and prioritize numerous simultaneous projects 
• Strong collaboration and communication skills – a stand-out colleague who builds strong relationships across all stakeholders, internally and externally
• Ability to adapt and work with ambiguity in growing, fast-paced environment
• Prior experience with Restaurants, Consumer Products and/or Retail preferred
• CPA or other financial certifications preferred, but not required
