This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position.

The Position

The Final Arrangements Specialist is responsible for ensuring a compassionate and seamless experience for clients whose pets have passed on. The focus of the role is to ensure that clients' aftercare wishes are communicated and processed efficiently and accurately. The Final Arrangements Specialist is a bridge between the hospital’s internal departments, the client, and the hospital’s aftercare vendor.

Some Of The Duties Include

  • Process aftercare paperwork and communicate with clients to confirm final arrangements wishes.
  • Ensure that proper payment is collected and applied to the patient account as needed.
  • Input pet details into the pet crematory tracking system daily.
  • Communicate with the pet crematory staff regularly to ensure quick and efficient processing of pet remains.
  • Respond to voicemails left on the final arrangements line and ensure that owners are communicated with in a timely manner.
  • Daily quality control for pet remains in the morgue to ensure that they are labeled and tagged accurately.
  • Order aftercare supplies such as bar code labels, bags, tags, flyers, and other aftercare supplies as needed.
  • Assist with preparing patient remains for cremation with kindness and compassion, while understanding the dignity of the patient. Demonstrate the understanding of proper labeling of pet remains.
  • Assist with transportation of patient remains to appropriate locations throughout the building.
  • Act as primary point of contact for both client and crematory anytime unexpected issues arise in the aftercare process.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for applicants with at least one year of experience working in an animal hospital or clinic in a client facing role. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
