The House of Good Deeds is a NYC-based 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to building community, leading by example, and improving the world through Altruism, one Good Deed at a time: everyone, everywhere, every day. We teach that any single person can make a real difference; while working together, people can move mountains.

We organize recurring and one-off community service events, both online and in person, including blood drives, donation drives and giveaways, community improvements, and education classes.

We'd like to bring FIVE interns into different leadership roles within the HoGD who are also excited about helping others.

1) Grant Writing and Fundraising

This intern will identify and apply for grants, corporate sponsorships, and third-party funding to support our goal of encouraging and enabling Altruism.

2) Organizational Outreach

This intern will identify and reach out to other organizations and individuals with whom we can partner to accomplish mutual goals, including but not limited to volunteer opportunities, donation and distribution of food, shelter, clothing, and/or money, and logistics.

3) Public Relations and Social Media

This intern will help New Yorkers learn about the House of Good Deeds across multiple channels: social media, advertising, publicity, attending events in person, and creatively developing opportunities for positive publicity.

4) Website Management

This intern will work with our existing team to maintain our website at HouseOfGoodDeeds.org, and will come up with and implement ideas for its improvement.

5) Personal Styling / Fashion Intern

This intern will work with our Sustainable Showroom, a joint venture designed to upcycle/embellish rescued clothing with personal stylist Deliver Your Style with locations in Queens and Manhattan. Responsibilities will include clothing selection and maintenance, sewing and repair, and hands-on learning underneath an award-winning stylist.

Successful candidates will all have the following skills:

> Ability to take initiative and lead projects
> Excellent communication and writing skills
> Confidence in interpersonal interactions
> Excellent research skills
> Excellent logistical skills
> Desire to directly improve the lives of others

Does this sound like you or someone you know? Tell us WHICH position you'd like to apply for, and WHY you'd be a great fit for helping us help others.

Internship is UNPAID and part-time over 6 or 12 months, but feels great for your heart. School credit IS available.
