Tessera Fall Co-op Program: Designed for students as an alternate academic study in their Bachelors or Masters program. Eligible students would be those attending schools with an established co-op program for academic credit.

Duration: June 24 – December 13, 2024 || Monday – Friday, 35-40 hrs/week

  • Hands-on Experience: Co-op participants will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on innovative projects at the forefront of biotechnology. 
  • Coffee Chats with Leadership: Regular informal sessions will be arranged where students can engage in candid conversations with Tessera Therapeutics' leadership team. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to gain insights into leadership styles, career paths, and industry trends.
  • Career Development Workshops: Throughout the program, participants will have access to a series of workshops focused on enhancing key professional skills such as communication, drafting a resume and interviewing. 
  • Student Outings and Activities: To foster a sense of camaraderie and community among participants, Tessera Therapeutics will organize various outings and activities. 
  • Student Presentation: Opportunity to present accomplishments at the end of the co-op program to the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support FP&A Lead and Senior Director in financial management and executing corporate-wide budgeting and planning processes.
  • Utilize Adaptive Planning, SAP, and Coupa systems to develop reports that provide financial insights for informed decision-making by researchers and leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, suggesting and implementing improvements that streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Examine and analyze financial statements of peer companies to extract valuable competitive insights and present final analysis.
  • Facilitate month-end review through the preparation of financial reports enabling variance analysis, performance commentary, and presentation to management.
  • Conduct transaction reviews and collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate coding and proper documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and general systems affinity.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and exhibits strong organizational skills.
  • Displays a robust ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated and capable of maintaining focus in a remote work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills to enhance collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to take a process and detail the sequence of actions needed to accomplish it.

Position Summary:

The FP&A Co-op will be part of a collaborative team that’s responsible for driving financial insights and strategies to contribute to Tessera's financial achievements. We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated student who is comfortable multitasking and working in a team environment. This student will gain industry experience and exposure by collaborating closely with our FP&A team and internal company stakeholders.
