Manufacturing Facilities Supervisor

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of Peet’s roasting plant facilities. This position will supervise the priorities and activities performed by the in-house resources and manage facilities-related contractors (however not limited to). This is a “hands on” role. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads daily activities and tasks assigned, including setting priorities for contractors, monitoring work performance, and providing feedback, guidance, and mentoring as required. 
  • Develops schedules, performs, and supervises preventative maintenance and repair work on systems and equipment. 
  • Maintains, performs repairs at facilities as required, ensuring compliance to company standards 
  • and Alameda County code. 
  • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning maintenance activities. 
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance (pest control, parking lot maintenance, etc.). 
  • Ensure custodial-related duties necessary to maintain cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and necessary upkeep for the Facilities are completed daily. Coordinates all trash/recycle/animal feed waste and supports ESG initiatives.  
  • Document processes and procedures for facilities & repairs. 
  • Ensure compliance with city and state permits, health, and safety regulations. 
  • Builds, manages relationships and coordinates with service providers to address facility issues. 
  • Assist with any future expansion projects. 
  • Be on call for morning/evening/weekend projects or emergencies. 
  • Reports health and safety hazard concerns to management. Addresses with CA as assigned.  
  • Requisitions, maintains custodial supplies and equipment, stocks inventory of facilities supplies. 
  • Works with potential vendors to prepare cost estimates, submits justifications to the Sr Maintenance Manager for budget approval.

  • Strong mechanical acumen, with the ability to understand equipment fundamentals and implications of change.  
  • Understand and oversee all building, including electrical, AV, HVAC, and plumbing. 
  • Ability to operate in significant ambiguity and to develop a path forward with minimal guidance. 
  • Ability to proactively identify potential risks and to problem solve to drive work forward.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills targeted to varying audiences, including peers,  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and EQ with the ability to navigate diverse populations. 
  • Able & willing to roll-up sleeves to get the job done. 
  • Ability to read and interpret building, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics. 



PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 3+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably involving manufacturing operations. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations 
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize. 
  • Project management skills preferred. 
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance) 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively with others. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and vendors. 
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions in English. 
  • Bilingual – Spanish will be an asset.  
  • Maintain a valid driver's license. 



EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field or GED & 10+ years of equivalent experience. 
  • Three (3) years of facilities experience required. 
  • Two to Three (3) years supervisory or lead experience. 
  • Experience managing people in a complex warehouse facility, commercial moving, logistics or supply chain. 
  • Proficient in MS Office, including MS Excel. 
  • Familiarity with manufacturing ERP systems, D365 preferred.

The target hourly range for this position is $35-50/hr. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
