Epidemiologist - Remote (EVERGREEN)
At Geneva, we are always on the search for top talent. While this role is not associated with a current opening, one may become available in the near future. Resumes are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and you could be contacted for this role or similar, at anytime.
About The Position
The epidemiologist provides guidance to the Principal Investigator in the design, management and evaluation of study protocols and health status questionnaires, sample selection and analysis. The epidemiologist investigates and describes the determinants and distribution of disease, disability, or health outcomes.
This is a remote position. A thorough government background check will be required.
About The Project
The Musculoskeletal Injury Rehabilitation Research for Operational Readiness (MIRROR) was established to support the execution of clinically relevant research to advance the care of service members with non-combat related musculoskeletal injury (MSI). Headquartered at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), MIRROR provides coordination and support of inter-service and inter-disciplinary partnerships across military treatment facilities (MTFs), military training centers (MTCs), and civilian academic centers to execute cutting-edge research in order to mitigate the burden of MSI on military readiness. MIRROR Project 43 is a comprehensive retrospective study that characterizes LBP care trajectories for Active Duty military personnel, following initial LBP presentation to immediate care (emergency departments and urgent care clinics) vs. routine (primary) care settings. The knowledge products developed herein will benefit the medical community by expanding our overall understanding of immediate care patterns for LBP management, including the proportion of care that adheres to clinical practice guidelines for LBP in immediate care settings and the likelihood of developing chronic LBP after initial presentation to immediate care settings. Our deliverables will directly impact the early management of patients who present with LBP to different care settings and guide the future study of interventions that improve management of LBP in immediate care settings, in order to reduce long-term disability.
Salary Range
$67,700 - $97,500. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
