Engineering Supervisor

Must Haves:

• Bilingual - Spanish
• University degree in engineering, preferably manufacturing engineering
• Minimum 6 years experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proven background in plastics manufacturing processes, e.g. injection molding, welding and assembly
• 3 years experience in a manufacturing or engineering related leadership role
• Spanish language skills would be preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Team Building and Management:

• Establish and oversee the North America Thermal Management Industrial Engineering Team based in Troy, MI and Irapuato, MX.
• Develop and nurture a skilled and motivated team capable of delivering on project objectives.

Project Leadership:

• Lead Industrial Engineering activities for acquisitions and development projects in North America within the global Schaeffler IE network.
• Drive process development, costing, investment, and industrialization efforts for product development projects in the region.

Competence Growth:

• Cultivate regional competencies to build a self-sustaining Industrial Engineering organization.
• Identify training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

Process Development and Competitiveness:

• Initiate and oversee new process developments in the region to enhance competitiveness.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Resource Management:

• Manage internal and external functions including plant segments, special machinery equipment, and process engineering providers.
• Steer budgeting processes for Thermal Management Manufacturing (TMM) related plants within the global organization.

Productivity Improvement:

• Lead productivity improvement and technical savings activities within the North American region.
• Implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce costs.

Prototype Manufacturing and Procurement:

• Manage prototype manufacturing and procurement activities within the Schaeffler network.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective development of prototypes to support product development initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a preference for manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in plastics manufacturing processes such as injection molding, welding, and assembly.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering-related leadership role.
• Proven ability to achieve results in a global matrix organization, including collaboration with European and Asia-Pacific regions.
• Willingness to travel moderately overseas and regularly to Mexico.
• Proficiency in Spanish language would be advantageous.
