Compensation And Benefits

The salary range for this position is $125k - $162k. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, Sciton provides an opportunity to participate in equity/stock incentive programs, a profit-sharing bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401K with matching.

Position Summary

You will work very closely with the technical team developing and supporting our product line of aesthetic medical laser systems. The position is located in Palo Alto, California.

In This Role, You Will Engage In

  • Electronic design, including simulation
  • Parts selection, taking into consideration obsolescence, availability, and cost
  • PCB design using Altium Designer
  • Embedded controller development (ARM)
  • System wiring harness and cable design
  • Hardware and software testing
  • System Compliance Testing
  • Prototype build/ SMD rework

Specific Areas Of Experience Needed

  • IGBT, Mosfets (Power switching, motor control switching supplies)
  • Pyroelectric detectors (Instrumentation, sensor interfacing, electro-optical, sensors)
  • Constant current source (Analog design, general EE)
  • Switching power supplies (Power supply design)
  • Magnetic circuits, transformers (Analog, general EE, power, power supply, motor control, instrumentation)
  • ADCs DACs (Mixed-signal, microcontroller, analog, digital, interface, converters)
  • I2C, SPI, other buses (Serial protocols, interfacing, UART, microcontroller)
  • Op Amps: Amplifiers, integrators, and differentiators (Analog, linear, instrumentation, front end, signal processing, signal conditioning, general EE)
  • Basic Digital Design and Interfacing
  • Robotics (Kinematics, Reverse kinematic, Motor control, control systems, actuators, electro-mechanical, mechatronics)

Education/Experience Required

  • Years of direct experience (5 + years)
  • BSEE degree required
  • Experience with voltages up to 1000 V, currents up to 400 Amps, and up to 4 KW of power
  • Ability to work effectively with the engineering team
  • Experience with switching power supply design
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, project-oriented
  • High preference for talent with medical aesthetic industry experience
