My client, a market leading Digital Health company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software Development to lead their enterprise software development team. The Director of Software Development will be responsible for managing a team of software architects, front/backend/full stack software engineers, QA Engineers, and other technical staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable and efficient SaaS software systems to support business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex, SOC II-compliant, enterprise-level SaaS applications, ensuring high standards of software quality and performance.
• Lead and manage a team of software developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• In collaboration with our Software Systems Operation and Support Team, be responsible for the design, implementation, and deployment of our cloud-based software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Architect data flow systems that facilitate efficient and secure transfer of data within and across different components of our ecosystem.
• Champion new ideas, capabilities and digital offering solutions needed to drive business growth across connected businesses.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in software development and quality assurance, and incorporate relevant advancements into our processes and workflows.

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong technical proficiency in software technologies such as TypeScript/Javascript, ReactJS, NodeJS/ExpressJS, Microservices, Serverless and Load Balancing technologies, Enterprise-level Transactional Database/SQL systems, Python, Java, and other.
• Practical experience in establishing software testing processes including unit testing, integration testing, A/B testing and regression testing.
• Experience and understanding of real-time data messaging tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with tools that facilitate real-time audio transcription and translation, possibly integrating with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, is an advantage.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Extensive experience with agile development methodologies, continuous integration, and deployment practices.
• Strong understanding of HIPPA regulations and software compliance requirements in healthcare industry.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Prior experience in a leadership or management role, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams is a must have.
