Overview: The Director of Purchasing and Inventory Management will play a key role in our organization's success by overseeing all aspects of procurement and supply chain management across multiple skilled nursing facilities, with a specific focus on optimizing inventory levels.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives and inventory management strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality goods and services
- Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or concerns to enhance collaboration and efficiency
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to develop and manage budgets related to purchasing and inventory management activities
- Monitor spending and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in all procurement and inventory management activities
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with supply chain and inventory to maintain operational continuity
- 5+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in Skilled Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in a procurement role, with a focus on inventory management
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and improving procurement and inventory efficiency
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities
- In-depth knowledge of procurement and inventory management software and systems
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in healthcare procurement and inventory management
- Experience in contract negotiations relating to vendors, maintenance organizations and GPOs
