Director Engineering

Seeking a Director Engineering to handle the product development and engineering strategy for a Fintech client. Identify and address high-level technical challenges and risks, providing solutions at an organizational level. Will collaborate with other important stakeholders to set the long-term technology vision, align it with business objectives, and influence overall company strategy. Will have an overall team of 80-90 people reporting in, global teams .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering teams with a focus on adopting agile scrum methodologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
• Coach and mentor team members on agile scrum methodologies, ensuring best practices are followed
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into deliverables
• Identify and manage project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution
• Communicate project status to stakeholders and executive leadership, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and issues
• Define meaningful KPIs to measure the performance of software development teams and educate the team on how to improve their metrics
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the software development teams
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• At least 15 years of experience in software development, with at least six years in a leadership role from the fintech industry
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members, skills in strategy, innovation and architecture
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and manage project risks and issues
• Ability to define meaningful KPIs to measure the performance of software development teams and help educate the team on how to improve their metrics
