Network Architecture and Design:
Lead the design and architecture of complex network solutions, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, to meet business requirements and support organizational growth.
Define standards, best practices, and architectural principles for network design, configuration, and operations.
Network Implementation and Optimization:
Oversee the implementation and deployment of network solutions, ensuring adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and security policies.
Optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability through proactive monitoring, analysis, and tuning.
Network Security and Compliance:
Develop and enforce network security policies, procedures, and controls to protect against security threats, vulnerabilities, and cyber attacks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to network security and data privacy.
Vendor Management and Partnerships:
Manage relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers, evaluating products and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Establish strategic partnerships with technology vendors and industry organizations to stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
Develop and manage the network engineering budget, allocating resources effectively to support network initiatives and projects.
Forecast future network infrastructure needs and investment requirements to support organizational growth and strategic objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and key stakeholders to understand business requirements and priorities, and to ensure alignment of network initiatives with organizational goals.
Communicate network strategy, plans, and progress to executive leadership, board of directors, and other stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or equivalent are preferred.
Experience: 12+ years of progressive experience in network engineering roles, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing large-scale enterprise network infrastructures.
Technical Skills:
Expert-level knowledge of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networking.
Extensive experience with network hardware and software, including Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Aruba wireless controllers.
Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Cisco Prime.
Leadership and Management:
Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Ability to inspire and motivate team members, foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, and drive continuous improvement.
