HONOR is a made to order Bridal & Bespoke collection label established in 2010 by Founder & Creative Director, Giovanna Randall. Since its inception in 2010, HONOR has been lauded by the press and has graced inspiring women including Oprah Winfrey, Glenn Close, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kirsten Dunst, Taylor Swift and Gretchen Mol. Giovanna established the brand’s identity through feminine silhouettes, intricate detailing and extraordinary fabrics. Core to HONOR’s mission is a dedication to bringing industry back to Manhattan’s historic garment district, respect for the art of garment making and fair treatment of the skilled artisans who create her designs. HONOR garments are proudly developed and produced exclusively in New York City.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
Seeking a personable and inclusive team player who is an extremely organized, proactive multi-tasker with a superior attention to detail, excellent communication, and time management skills. An individual who is a critical thinker and who is Big Picture minded. Must have a hands-on approach, with start-to-finish garment construction knowledge and experience in demi-couture womenswear development is required. Made in NY and atelier experience is preferred.
• This is a full-time opportunity, working on-site from our design studio & atelier in SOHO, NYC.
• Hours of Operation: M-F 10 AM - 6 PM, though full time associates are expected to have open availability to meet the needs of the business. Additional hours and weekends may be required in the lead up to seasonal collection presentations, photo shoots and markets.
• Salary Range: To commensurate with experience $130K+
• Benefits: After 30 days of successful employment, you will be eligible to participate in the benefit plans as maintained by the Company in its discretion which includes medical, dental, and vision coverage.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Manage a small team to develop collections from start to finish, reporting to Founder / Creative Director.
• Excellent communication skills, able to problem solve and enforce efficient workflows by adhering to design and development calendars and delivering to deadlines.
• Enforcing design protocols & organization within the design department.
• Oversee creation of fabric layering mockups and sewing samples to help select final fabrics, linings, and finishes.
• Efficient and timely cross functional communications with Development, Production, Textile, Merchandise / Sales, Media, Studio & HR.
• Give creative input throughout the process, oversee print and embroidery development, participate in all development fittings.
• Work alongside the design team when needed to sketch, create detail sheets & cut tickets.
• Work closely with and instruct in-house Atelier and Development Team to ensure each new collection is executed to Honor’s standards.
• We are made in NYC, therefore familiarity/ relationships with local NYC Garment District resources is a plus.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• BFA or AAS in Fashion Design with senior level design experience.
• 5 years minimum of relatable working experience.
• Experience working for a luxury brand in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of Honor’s aesthetic and passionate about maintaining Honor’s design DNA throughout all aspects of the brand.
• High design acumen, with a superior eye for colors, textiles, proportions and details.
• In-depth knowledge of high-end garment construction.
• Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator on MAC. InDesign is a plus.
• Proficient in Adobe Fresco on iPad. (Can be learned on the job).
