What is JetZero?

Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.

JetZero is developing a blended wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

This is why we’re hiring a Design Intern. You will be responsible for helping bring our product vision and solutions to life for our customers and end-users alongside our multi-disciplinary team of designers and innovators.

JetZero is a place for people who are ambitious, talented, and humble. This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Head of Product Design and Experience.

What You'll Do

As a Design Intern you will gain hands-on experience working at the intersection of multiple design disciplines from Product, Branding, Interior Design and Customer Experience. Collaborating across groups to contribute value-driven solutions, iterated and presented through immersive digital and physical environments. As a part of our team, you'll have access to our full-scale mockup and prototype lab and creative design studio in our new headquarters located directly on the historic Long Beach Airport.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum Junior level status in an accredited Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Visual Effects, Interior Design and Architecture (or similar) degree or certification.
• Ability to work onsite in Long Beach 5 days a week.
• Excellent aesthetic sensibility and skill to create engaging and cohesive design content, both in 2D, 3D and in physical prototypes
• Foundational understanding of design research, ideation and development processes
• Hands-on ability to prototype, build, and iterate your ideas with efficiency
• Hand sketching and rendering skills and ability to rapidly communicate your ideas
• Experience with software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Fusion360, Rhino3D, Solidworks, Unreal Engine is preferred

Salary Range: $25/hr to $35/hr
