Database Architect
Join the UCSB Baseball Team as a Volunteer Database Architect. This pivotal role involves designing and managing a comprehensive database to house all UCSB baseball-related data. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Director of Analytics to revolutionize how data is utilized within our baseball program, enhancing performance analysis and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a robust database structure to accommodate diverse data types, including Excel files, video footage, and additional formats as required.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and accessibility of the database.
- Collaborate with the Director of Analytics to identify data needs and ensure the database aligns with strategic goals.
- Manage data imports and ongoing maintenance to keep the database functional and up-to-date.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in database design and management, with a portfolio or examples of previous work.
- Strong familiarity with database technologies and software, particularly those suitable for handling large datasets and multimedia files.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Passionate about baseball and sports analytics.
