Cyber Security Analyst

Job Overview: As a Mid-Level Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the security posture of our clients by proactively identifying and mitigating cyber threats. You will work within a collaborative team environment, leveraging your expertise to implement security measures, monitor systems for potential vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and assess the effectiveness of existing security controls.
- Monitor security systems, including intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, and SIEM platforms, to detect and respond to security incidents.
- Analyze security logs and alerts to identify potential threats and recommend appropriate actions for mitigation.
- Investigate security incidents, including conducting forensic analysis and root cause analysis, to determine the extent of the breach and implement remediation measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay informed about the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends, and make recommendations for security improvements based on emerging threats.
- Participate in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees and clients.
- Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the security team, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, preferably within a managed service provider or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies, such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, SIEM, antivirus, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
- Proficiency in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.
- Experience with security incident response, including analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, etc.) are highly desirable.
