Job Summary:

The Vendor Relations Specialist will be responsible for negotiating IT contracts and Statements of Work for software applications. This role requires a fast-paced environment where you'll manage relationships with external vendors, administer contracts, and provide valuable insights into the external marketplace. With a focus on negotiation and contracting, you'll ensure seamless interactions between our client and their technology partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, serving as the primary point of contact.
  • Administer contracts with hardware and software vendors, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Stay informed about the external marketplace, offering insights and recommendations to the organization.
  • Provide advice on technology vendors, offerings, and options to internal stakeholders.
  • Resolve escalated problems with vendors and plan for future software releases.
  • Monitor progress and performance of vendor services based on complex statements of work.
  • Manage statements of work for contracted labor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct negotiations with established vendors, aiming for favorable terms and agreements.
  • Utilize understanding of information technologies to contribute to IT projects and initiatives.
  • Identify and document problems, escalating issues as needed according to procedures.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers to define tasks and create teamwork plans.
  • Estimate effort required for small projects and recommend solutions to work-related issues.
  • Addressing customer needs directly or through appropriate channels, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Independently interact with customer subject matter experts, fostering positive relationships.


Requirements:

  • Must live within the Greater St. Louis area.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Required a minimum of 3 years of vendor management experience.
  • Experience in negotiation and contracting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of information technologies and marketplace trends.
