The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for designing and executing the Office of Admissions events, special programming and will coordinate marketing communications to internal and external constituents. The role requires collaboration across all departments, creating relationships with different school stakeholders to effectively plan and execute events and develop communication content that will advance the school’s mission and values to internal and external audiences. The position will provide administrative support as needed.

The Admissions Coordinator’s role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Event Planning and Project Management

  • Marketing/Communications Support

Position Details

  • Work Year: 12-month
  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, occasional weekend work, schedule may vary based on operational needs
  • Starting Hourly Rate*: $21.73/Hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a solid track record of progressively more responsible and related experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience working in an administrative setting. Experience in an independent school environment, preferably in admissions, marketing and/or communication preferred.
  • Experience with project management or event planning.
  • Warm and hospitable speaking and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous organizational and project management skills with empathetic flexibility to adapt.
  • High aptitude for technology and data management systems (e.g. Blackbaud, MailChimp, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and facilitate an equitable admissions experience
  • Possess a collaborative, go-getter attitude to partner effectively and efficiently with members of the Admissions Team, faculty, and administrators.
  • Positive outlook and genuine desire to collaborate with families through the admissions process.
  • Successful event planning experience.
  • Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay and benefits. The pay rate, if displayed, is the minimum hourly rate for the position. Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity.
