Job Purpose
The Community Education Coordinator is responsible for coordination of The Blue Bench’s educational
programs and outreach events. They work with the Community Education team, and new and existing
community partners, to build capacity in program growth/development. The Education Coordinator
works to advance The Blue Bench’s mission by planning and assisting in the delivery of educational
workshops, department activities for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and new projects. They lead the
development and execution of the Youth Engagement Program and perform administrative
functions/logistics in the areas of outreach, staff coordination and training, data entry for program
evaluation.
The ideal candidate is adept at building relationships with adults, youth, and institutions to engage our
community in mission-driven work. They are empathetic, charismatic, imaginative, and detail oriented.
They are committed to empowering individuals and communities and believe that connection and
education can be effective in driving change.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Administrative Functions & Logistics (60%)

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $21.50 with a differential for fluent
Spanish speakers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Coordinates and tracks all ongoing program, education and outreach event communications,
- Conducts outreach by phone, video calls, and email to potential community partners for
- Supports the Data Assistant in data collection and reporting
- Assists in updating and maintaining internal systems and processes
- Oversees the development and execution of the Youth Engagement Program (YEP) in
- Facilitates meetings for the YEP in collaboration with Youth Engagement Specialist
- Oversees YEP social media, community and school-based projects on sexual violence prevention
- Assists in management of new Community Education initiatives, projects and programs as
- Assists the Community Education Manager on application of feedback from site contacts and
- Assists the Community Education Manager with coordination of Community Educator training
- Facilitates The Blue Bench Community Education programs with community partners, including
service providers, youth groups, and workshops open to the general public.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to engage adults and youth in an ongoing understanding of sexual
- Assists in training new Community Educators
- Commitment to advancing The Blue Bench’s values, mission, goals, and programs, including antiviolence
- Experience working with and supporting diverse communities
- Experience facilitating educational programs and/or workshops
- Experience working in non-profit outreach and/or program implementation
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, leadership, oral and written communication, and
- Basic knowledge of, and experience using, Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to effectively respond to, and support, students who disclose experiences of sexual
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required for travel to training locations
- Fluency in Spanish and English preferred
