About the team:
The Global Trust and Safety Communications team at TikTok leads on initiatives to build public trust in our approach to platform safety and integrity, including our policies and moderation, product features and partnerships. The team partners closely with Trust & Safety, Product, and Public Policy colleagues along with other cross-function teams, providing strategic counsel on the development of strategies that put our community's safety first.

We're looking for a strategic communications professional to join our Global Trust and Safety Communications team to help us build trust and improve understanding of our safety policies related to misinformation and election integrity, and related product features, in-app interventions and campaigns. You'll help develop, lead and implement a range of communications initiatives which demonstrate our commitment to providing our community with authentic experiences and protecting our platform's integrity during heightened moments of national and international conversation, such as elections.

Responsibilities:
- Develops global communications initiatives to build trust with our community and other stakeholders in our work to combat misinformation and maintain the integrity of our platform.
- Supports and advances TikTok's global misinformation and election integrity narrative, including the creation of messaging docs, blog posts, speaking materials, pitches, statements, talking points, assets, and other materials. Supports spokespeople in preparation for media interviews, presentations, and other speaking engagements.
- Supports and develops transparency initiatives, including reporting on covert influence operations.
- Holds and continues to develop strong media relationships, including through handling reactive inquiries to protect TikTok's reputation.
- Develops relationships with our global fact-checking partners.
- Works collaboratively with Trust and Safety, Product, Marketing, Legal, Public Policy, and other teams to provide communications counsel and support, and to deliver media literacy campaigns for our community.
- Empowers market PR teams to consistently and accurately tell stories to build trust in TikTok's approach to moderation, policies, and features.
- Provides ongoing product and policy risk review and counsel.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and verbal communication skills
- Experience working on trust and safety issues, ideally related to integrity and authenticity.
- Strong media judgement and strong US media relations
- Able to respond to and collaborate on a range of situations with empathy and a people-first mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong crisis comms experience preferred
- Experience developing proactive PR campaigns on a global scale
- A self-starter who is motivated, takes initiative, and works well in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment with short deadlines

Job Information:

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $110222 - $198444 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
