Overview /Objective

The Club Business Development team supports the 32-Member Clubs in all aspects of their business operations while serving as liaisons to the Clubs and the League. The team utilizes a combination of analytics and functional expertise in sales and marketing to develop ‘next practices’ and facilitates the sharing of ‘best practices’ between clubs.

In addition to supporting all local revenue streams, the NFL’s Club Business Development department (Club BD) supports the 32 clubs in delivering direct local value & optimization, best-in-class fan experiences via data-driven insights, and innovative fan and stadium enhancements and strategies, through direct Club Consulting, strategic analysis, and Club benchmarking. In addition to working directly with the clubs, Club BD works cross-functionally to help guide key strategic initiatives at a League level. The team utilizes a combination of analytics and functional expertise in sales, marketing, data & analytics, and more to develop 'next practices' and facilitates the sharing of 'best practices' between clubs.

Club Business Development is searching for an Associate who will focus on supporting club digital efforts. The Club Consulting team within Club Business Development drives integral conversations with the clubs across their day-to-day business efforts including key areas such as Ticketing, Sponsorship, Premium, Marketing, Digital, etc. both domestically and internationally. This role will assist the clubs in their overall digital efforts: driving their business through owned and operated channels (e.g., club website, app, etc.). This will be done by identifying and communicating out best practices, working with clubs on site design strategies, supporting clubs in digital monetization efforts ( ticketing and partnerships), driving fan engagement activity, building out materials to highlight key strategy efforts, and disseminating communications to the clubs. The Club Business Development Digital Account Manager will support the clubs through a combination of proactive and reactive activity, having day to day interactions with a designated set of clubs. This role will also be asked to support the Club BD team across the department on strategic projects and department-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Building relationships with key members of the club staff across their digital efforts including through club visits
  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to the club's business model through a holistic understanding of their business.
  • Advise on key digital business strategies to advance the club’s efforts within their local marketplace.
  • Identify and disseminate best practice strategies through materials that highlight “best-in-class” digital business practices, and more, that are applicable to NFL club business efforts
  • Work with Club Business Development analytics staff on reporting, data-led insights, and additional studies/initiatives
  • Support around tentpole league events (e.g., Super Bowl, NFL Draft, Pro Bowl, etc.)
  • Support Club Business Development department-wide efforts, including through specific reports, club surveys and data-collection.
  • Meet with vendors in the digital space to provide introductions and recommendations to clubs
  • Participate in all 32 League meetings, workshops and calls

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Excellent communication, team building, and interpersonal skills
  • A key understanding of digital strategies; understanding of ticketing, marketing and partnership strategies a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Team, league, or agency experience preferred
  • Consulting and/or strategy background a plus

  • Ability to anticipate clubs' needs and match them with appropriate work products and/or individuals at the League Office
  • Excellent presentation skills, including Powerpoint and similar tools
  • Ability to derive insights from data / analytics / research and present findings to all levels of an organization
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, good time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • FSLA Non-Exempt
  • This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.
