Civil Engineer Intern

Sandis is currently looking for an enthusiastic Civil Engineer Intern to join our Oakland team for the summer of 2024. You will get hands-on experience with licensed engineers and be able to acquire more knowledge about land development design. This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineering student to explore a career in the industry!

This is an ideal opportunity for those who want to get involved with exciting Bay Area projects, gain mentorship that will help further their knowledge, and have a full-time schedule throughout the summer.

What You Will Be Learning

• Design Engineer computations for grading and utility plans
• Assisting with fire flow tests
• Real-life engineering assessments
• Assisting with coordination of different agencies and interacting with other members of a design team including Architects, Landscape Architects, and MEP Engineers.
• Design of utility systems including water, sanitary and storm drain.
• Engineering support during construction including, but not limited to, review of material submittals, answering Requests for Information (RFIs), and site observations.
  
  

This Is The Perfect Opportunity For Those That Are

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Junior or Senior standing)
• Has exposure to basic AutoCAD commands.
• Familiar with general engineering principles such as slope calculations and elevations, utility systems, capacity calculations using known engineering formulas, materials and understanding of project specifications, and hydraulics and hydrology.
