Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview.

The Civil Engineer Intern will provide support to the senior managers in the survey and construction departments. We are open to applicants seeking full-time or part-time schedules. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to support several exciting local and national projects.

Duties/Responsibilities: Some experience in following preferred, but will train

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD taking data from field team and creating drawings
• Compiling information for plans, as-builts and final plats
• Assisting in preparing preliminary information and specifications for plans
• Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
• Assisting in developing a variety of layouts, drawings and designs
• Assisting in obtaining permits and approvals for projects
• Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
• Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
• Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
• Work in field as a part of a survey crew to collect existing conditions information. This information will be then used to prepare existing conditions map.
  
  
  

Education/Experience:

• Currently enrolled in and currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree program in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 1+ year experience in AutoCAD, preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners including clients, sub consultants, and utility companies
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Very organized, dependable, and professional
