Vannin Chief of Staff has been retained by an event tech/martech startup based in Denver, CO. Our client is on a mission to power in-person experiences that build community and connection. Through their platform, they empower both businesses and consumers to plan, design, and host with ease and efficiency. Businesses can now execute repeatable events at scale while capturing the data and metrics to capture ROI and make informed business decisions.

Chief of Staff Role

Our client is seeking a Chief of Staff. This individual will report to the CEO and support strategic initiatives and drive accountability for goals across the company. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a blend of strategic, operational, project management, and leadership skills. Additionally, they should possess exceptional attention to detail, initiative, and critical thinking skills. They are curious, adaptable, and comfortable managing change and ambiguity. They enjoy solving complex problems, are highly collaborative, and operate with a strong bias toward action and results. They exercise exceptional discretion with confidential information. Are you ready to join the party?

This will be a full-time, fully remote, exempt position. Although remote, Denver-based candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

Executive Team Leadership and Company Strategy:

  • Assist the CEO in day-to-day operational management of the business and in ensuring the CEO priorities are being effectively executed
  • Own prioritization and execution of key company strategic initiatives by partnering with key stakeholders and internal functions
  • Enhance the effectiveness of key meetings by setting effective agendas and driving high-quality content and output, including preparation and meeting follow-ups

Operations:

  • Support the development and drive the scorecard success metrics and KPIs. Monitor key metrics and flag areas of concern
  • Own and continuously improve company operating cadence (e.g. executive team meetings, strategic planning offsites, quarterly OKRs reviews, regular board meetings)
  • Seek areas for improvement and innovation to make the overall business run more smoothly and drive growth

Communications:

  • Assist with communications between and from the CEO to the wider team
  • Lead the preparation and development of all keys presentations, including but not limited to pitch decks, all hands meetings, internal and external speaking engagements, offsites, and events

Recommended Minimum Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of work experience
  • Proven experience at a fast, high growth startup in a Chief of Staff or operations leadership
  • 5+ years of project and change management expertise
  • Background in Management Consulting
  • Prioritize candidates that have held the title of Chief of Staff (or similar role)
  • SaaS experience with a background in CX and/or product management, preferred
  • Events experience is a plus, but not required
  • Demonstrates a high degree of diligence and organization
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent GSuite/Microsoft office skills; experience with Asana is a plus

Compensation Range: DOE $120-150K base annual salary + equity
