Business Unit Controller

Summary:

Unique opportunity to join one of Memphis' top employers due to internal promotion. Reporting to the President, serves as the financial business partner across the company which enjoyed +50% YoY top-line revenue growth. This role leads all accounting operations for the Company, interacts with executive leadership of Memphis-based, publicly traded corporation.

Responsibilities will Include:

• Lead monthly close cycle, internal control and policy development.
• Produce periodic financial reports, maintain/improve system of accounting records
• Oversee comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk
• Enhance accuracy of company's reported financial results, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Manage all accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Coordinate monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results
• Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions
• Prepare budgets and forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for manufacturing facility
• Coordinate and support external and internal financial audits
• Comple-te other ad hoc reporting requirements and data analytics using query-based reporting

Profile of Successful Candidate:

• Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration / Accounting, CMA and/or CPA preferred, but not required
• 5+ years experience in the accounting and finance sector, Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Understanding of accounting for a manufacturing company is required (Bills of Material, manufacturing processes)
• Solid understanding of ERP systems
• Ability to work cross-functionally with the total organization
• Excellent communication skills, internally and externally
