We are looking for our next Business Development Intern to collaborate across the strategy; working cross-functionally to understand our partnerships from ideation to implementation. Talkspace is headquartered in New York, NY, but this role can be remote and will report to the VP of Partnerships

What You'll Do

As part of our 2024 Early Careers Program, you will be part of a community that grows together!

You will be a driving force within the success of some of our more recent partnerships- working with organizations to drive solutions that make therapy more accessible.

This internship will have a direct impact on strategy, while working closely with our Business Development Team to identify and cultivate new relationships within different verticals and sectors.

  • Create and implement case studies leveraging customer analytics and market research.
  • Support the business development team in the management of current accounts and partnerships.
  • Help with the preparation of presentations and proposals for new clients and projects.
  • Contribute to project planning and strategy sessions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to implement business strategies.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed to support business development objectives.

Projects

  • Build Your Pipeline: Plays a crucial role in generating new business opportunities by identifying, developing, and nurturing leads into potential customers.
  • Process Management and Lead Health: Oversee marketing lead database and analyze/optimize lead qualification processes to identify and hand-off sales ready leads.Evaluate the potential of leads to determine their viability as customers, based on factors like their budget, purchase authority, need for the company's offerings, and their timeframe for making a purchase.
  • Pitch to an Executive: You will gain an extensive introduction to the business and will present on a part of the mission and role that was most impactful to you. Create and document a case study on a specific business development project, detailing the project’s objectives, processes, and outcomes, thereby providing insight into effective strategies and lessons learned for prospective customers to leverage.

Internship Details

  • Duration of Internship: June 3rd 2024 - August 19th 2024
  • Total of 2-3 projects with one of them serving as your graduation presentation
  • You will gain valuable (and paid!) professional experience, specific field related exposure and the ability to learn skills from collaborating with professionals
  • You will have a Talkspacer Mentor coming from this program - someone who helps keep track of your progress across 12 weeks

About You

  • Rising juniors and seniors in undergraduate degree, or enrolled in a graduate program
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Able to commit to working 20 hours per week during the summer
  • A passion for being in the details, ensuring every document, project, or experience is on-point and on-brand
  • Strong communicator (verbal & written) with the ability to listen, articulate positions, advocate, and execute ideas
  • Demonstrated interest in business development, strategic planning, and market analysis.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation software (e.g. Salesforce is a big plus)
  • Exceptional organizational, collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong storytelling, writing and editing skills
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills and attention to detail

Compensation

At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.

The hourly compensation rate for the role will be $20/hr for those enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and up to $25/hr for those enrolled in a graduate degree program. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
