POSITION SUMMARY:



The Associate Copywriter will deliver on-brand, performance-driven copy and proofreading skills to our creative team. They will work closely with the creative team and cross-functional teams to ensure site copy, PDP copy and product names are updated and maintained day-to-day and seasonally, as well as supporting in campaign and product stories across channels.


Working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, this role requires a dedication to the craft of writing, outstanding grammar and a demonstrated interested in fashion and/or jewelry.



CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support in the translation of seasonal concepts into effective channel-specific messaging
  • Serve as the creative team’s lead proofreader; ability to line edit and proofread all assets being sent to market
  • Maintain copy database of product copy, cleared product/franchise names, short form and long form descriptions, and any other product attributes
  • Market Research to ensure accuracy in industry terminology, product knowledge and compliance with legal
  • Work alongside designers to provide copy for visuals
  • Partner with Sr Copywriter to develop and deliver original, persuasive, artful and clear copy across channels, with a focus on:

- DTC emails, triggered and post-purchase emails

-Product description copy for wholesale and DTC

-UX copy and site content on johnhardy.com

-Product names

-Search, including ad-copy, sitelinks, extensions

-Paid social copy

-Paid display from prospecting to remarketing

-FAQ copy and returns and clientele copy

-Sale and promotional copy

-Day-to-day email, SMS and site QA


DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Creative Writing, English or a Humanities field with writing experience
  • 2–3 years of digital copywriting and/or professional writing experience; fashion industry experience preferred
  • Portfolio showcasing proven advertising copy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strength in grammar and copyediting (proofing)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external partners
  • Intellectual curiosity
