Assistant Store Manager - Household

Reports to: Director of Retail East Coast

POSITION SUMMARY:

Greet and assist clients with focused attention to creating an A+ hospitality experience that is consistent with the Nickey Kehoe mission. Encourage client engagement with merchandise while providing outstanding customer service. Always share the stories of our makers and artists and our NK Collection point of view with clients and swiftly reply to client inquiries over email.


You will facilitate sales by using our POS system and assist with order processing and tracking as needed. Be of service, be nimble, flexible, courteous and conscientious in your work and able to transition easily from one task to another. Act as a liaison across shop floors, stock rooms, executive offices and deliveries.


DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Support Director of Retail and assume Household management responsibilities in their absence
  • Determine strategic objectives for Household with the Director of Retail and set priorities accordingly
  • Analyze and develop understanding of internal / external customer behavior, trends, and preferences, adjusting processes and standards with the Director of Retail accordingly
  • Maintain schedule of Household Sales staff to ensure consistent coverage of the sales floor to provide for days off, lunch breaks and PTO
  • Helm sales/customer interaction
  • Provide direct support to the Director of Retail in providing ongoing education and training to the Sales Staff
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Buying team in monitoring and reviewing inventory levels in order to ensure accuracy of Household inventory
  • Facilitate sales using our point of sale system, closing out orders on a daily basis
  • Ensure orders are closed out at end of month to achieve and exceed sales goals
  • Field questions and connect colleagues with clients, work in collaboration with the NK Collection and Design Teams to align customer needs.
  • Reply swiftly to client inquiries via email or phone
  • Restock merchandise as necessary
  • Replenish packaging supplies
  • Work closely with back of house to ensure stock is organized and showroom is fully stocked
  • Assist in the upkeep of the visual experience and merchandising, ensuring fresh, tidy and organized displays and vignettes
  • Solve challenges that impact Household's service, efficiency, productivity and profitability with the Director of Retail
  • Hold members of the Sales team accountable for reaching goals and adhering to shop protocols (brand, business and individual) by providing immediate, respectful and constructive feedback
  • Contribute, adopt and apply creative skills that will enhance the customer experience
  • Develop a proactive selling culture that focuses on building long term relationships with new and existing customers and clients


QUALIFICATIONS & KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • High end customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Graceful under pressure
  • Amazing ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Helpful energy and highly self motivated
  • Familiarity with PC platforms and strong basic computer skills
  • Comfortable with dynamic environments and assisting in visual merchandising, packaging / handling product and activity-based services
