POSITION OBJECTIVE

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Restaurant General Manager to join Dōgon. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a strong background in restaurant management, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our guests. As the Assistant Restaurant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, maintain high standards of service, and ensure a memorable dining experience for our patrons.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and administrative functions.
  • Supervise and support the staff to ensure smooth service delivery, maintain a positive work environment, and uphold standards of excellence.
  • Coordinate and schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations during service hours.
  • Manage guest reservations, seating arrangements, and special requests to provide personalized and exceptional hospitality.
  • Monitor and uphold adherence to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations to ensure a safe and clean environment for guests and staff.
  • Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and enhance guest experience.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain menu consistency, quality control, and innovative culinary offerings.
  • Handle guest feedback, resolve complaints or issues promptly, and ensure guest satisfaction with a focus on building long-term relationships.
  • Conduct regular staff training sessions to enhance product knowledge, service standards, and teamwork within the restaurant.
  • Assist in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, and cost analysis to maximize profitability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in restaurant management, with a focus on fine dining or upscale hospitality.
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Proven track record in operational management, financial acumen, and problem-solving in a restaurant setting.
  • Understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and guest preferences in the fine dining segment.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
