Role Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Construction for LG Builders, an Assistant Project Manager is the foundation of our construction team supporting the needs across stakeholders including project managers, superintendents, clients / owners, and vendors. The Assistant Project Manager role is designed for people who are eager, smart, yet humble, who are prepared to learn and be exposed to a career in construction.


An ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, proactivity to identify issues or potential bottlenecks in a plan, and the flexibility to adjust accordingly. They are master communicators able to speak to a variety of stakeholders. They are critical thinkers who can understand what tasks are needed and then ensure those tasks get done reliably and resourcefully. The ideal candidate for Assistant Project Manager is someone who thrives on collaboration and accountability seeing a project through from pre-con to completion.


  • Oversee and support multiple projects simultaneously to ensure on time completion and within budget.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors, maintaining regular communication, and handling scheduling, change orders, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Foster strong, positive relationships with clients by communicating professionally, managing their expectations, and addressing any concerns with solutions-focused approaches throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and review the distribution of project schedules, scopes of work, coordination drawings, and ensure the integration of all updates in the as-built drawings with the project team.
  • Collect and organize essential project documentation including superintendent daily reports, weekly pictures, safety documentation, and maintain administrative logs (RFIs, RFPs, submittals).
  • Participate in project meetings, assist in the preparation and dissemination of progress reports, and contribute to the drafting and tracking of RFIs, change proposals, and coordination of material logistics and site safety plans.


Qualifications for Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality, trades, sales, construction management, or similar roles
  • Strong technical and communication skills across stakeholders, including email and document organization, with Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required, Microsoft Project & Procore knowledge preferred
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as architectural drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals helpful but not required
  • Ability to prioritize various tasks and manage time efficiently identifying long lead times and critical path items
  • Flexibility and adaptability as situations arise leveraging a solution-oriented attitude to meet business needs
  • Critical thinking with a resourceful mindset and a keen eye on detail and organizational skills; process-oriented
  • Able to prioritize and work with a sense of urgency providing frequent, proactive communication
