The Department of Nursing at Iona University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level to teach in its Master of Science in Nursing programs beginning in Fall 2024. Rank and tenure-track commensurate with background and experience. Applicants should have teaching and practice experience in nursing education. The faculty member will be responsible for delivering high quality learning experiences and education for graduate nursing students. The faculty member will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, strong knowledge in curriculum development, establish a productive scholarship agenda, have a record of service to the School/University, and work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the university. Other responsibilities include knowledge of online and hybrid delivery of course materials, providing engaging assignments, evaluation of student learning, mentorship to students and contributions to enhance the visibility, impact, and reputation of Iona University.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field
  • New York State unencumbered RN License
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level
  • Clinical experience within areas of expertise

Preferred Qualifications

  • CNE certification

Required Skills/Experience

  • Experience teaching in online or hybrid format in higher education
  • Previous experience with curriculum developing and curriculum mapping
  • Working knowledge of regulations for nursing education
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to diversity that contributes to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Outstanding computer skills that include proficiency Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint and ability to quickly learn other software platforms
