Morrison Foerster LLP, an Am Law 50 law firm with 18 offices worldwide, has an opening for an Accounts Receivable Coordinator within our Financial Operations Group in our New York or San Francisco office.


The Opportunity

  • Apply domestic client receipts.
  • Monitor unapplied receipts and work with billing and collections staff to apply.
  • Report on client collection activity to firm management.
  • Administer the credit card acceptance program.
  • Administer the unclaimed property program for cash receipts and client retainer deposits.
  • Administer the staff receivables program.
  • Assist with the month-end financial closing process and the annual financial audit.
  • Update process documentation for Accounts Receivable and Client Trust operations.
  • Comply with and understand Firm operations, policies, and procedures.


Ideal Candidate

Education and Experience

  • B.A. or B.S. in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated career progression.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Am Law 100 law firm experience is preferred.
  • Elite 3E financial system experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with State Bar regulations on client trust accounts is preferred.

  • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions.
  • Ability to analyze needs and to determine priorities based on business objectives.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading skills.
  • High client service ethic and a proven record in delivering exemplary client satisfaction to external and internal clients.
  • Highly effective communications skills and the ability to communicate credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications


California & New York salary range: $55K- $81K
