This role will be remote first with limited travel through August 2025 with the expectation that employees will begin working 2 days per week in our dedicated office space in Philadelphia starting September 2025.

About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting, the Accountant will play an active role in our lean and mighty accounting team by providing daily operational support to the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring transactions are recorded in alignment with US GAAP and internal accounting policies, as well as collaborating with stakeholders to streamline our month-end close process. In addition, you will have the opportunity to help us build a strong infrastructure and participate in ad hoc projects to support growth and scale. You are a highly motivated, technically proficient person with a strong sense of ownership and business ethics to deliver quality work on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries related to prepaid, fixed assets, and accruals
  • Prepare bank/credit card reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations for various domestic and foreign entities
  • Prepare reporting schedules, providing commentary and variance analyses
  • Assist with accounts payable including vendor inquiries
  • Manage accounts receivable, including generating invoices and applying cash receipts
  • Assist with the administration of our expense reporting system
  • Assist with internal and external audits by gathering the requested information
  • Prepare 1099s and other year-end processes
  • Proactively identify process inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvements
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to facilitate streamlined accounting processes
  • Assist with developing and improving accounting policies and processes as the business evolves
  • Assist with any special projects as needed (including documentation, system implementations, and process improvements)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or finance
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or industry experience
  • Experience using Netsuite, Looker, Bill.com (for A/P) and Google Sheets
  • Ability to leverage technology to manipulate and understand large data sets
  • Experience with international accounting a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Interested in rolling up their sleeves to help create processes from scratch and modify existing processes as necessary in a changing environment
  • Must live within 1.5 hour commute from Philadelphia or be willing to relocate to the area

Compensation & Benefits:

At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent and equitable. Total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks.

The annual gross pay range for this position is $60,000 - $84,000. This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.
