Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable Management:
• Process and verify invoices for accuracy and appropriate approvals
• Schedule and prepare payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies
• Update and provide credit details to new vendors
• Management of AP approval software. Adding new users and document processing
  
  

• Sales Tax Filing:
• Calculate and file sales taxes in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Work with IT to update jurisdiction rate changes
• Journal Entries:
• Prepare and enter monthly journal entries
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records
• Bank Reconciliation:
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies
• Internal Purchases Oversight:
• Manage the procurement process for internal purchases
• Ensure compliance with company policies and budget constraints
• Employee Management:
• Supervise and mentor accounts payable staff
• Provide guidance and training as needed
• Cross-Departmental Communication:
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Address and resolve any financial-related inquiries or issues

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience in accounting role
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role
• Experience managing accounts payable and filing sales taxes
• Proven ability to make journal entries and perform bank reconciliations
• Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AS400 accounting software and/or SMRTR Solutions AP Essentials
• Familiarity with internal purchase processes and procurement policies
