Habitat for Humanity Chicago serves families and communities in the city of Chicago and Cook County. Our mission is to build homes, strengthen families and enhance communities in Chicago. We are part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God's love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Habitat for Humanity Chicago is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; advocating for fair and just housing policies; and providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. As a member of the Chicago Development Council I am charged with educating fellow alumni about the importance of supporting the Duke Annual Fund, identifying potential new members for the council, attending regional Council events, and making significant leadership gifts to Duke University's Annual Fund. Associate Board Member of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Cook County North Suburban Chapter. Works with the Brandon Marshall Foundation to help raise awareness and funds to combat mental illness.

Spark is a national nonprofit that re-engages underserved seventh and eighth grade students, keeping them on track and ready for success in high school and beyond through workplace-based apprenticeships that uniquely combine mentoring, project-based learning, skill building and career exploration. I am currently serving in my third semester as a Spark Mentor. I have worked with CPS 7th graders from Frazier International Magnet School & John Milton Gregory Math & Science Academy.
